SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft exploded in space for the second time this year, raising questions over the company’s ambitious plans to send humans to Mars by the end of the decade. Despite the failure, SpaceX confirmed that there were no toxic materials among the debris and reassured that the first-stage booster successfully landed back on Earth using its midair crane-capture system.

The FAA previously granted SpaceX a launch license for the eighth flight despite ongoing investigations into the January explosion.
