New Residency Visas Enhance UAE’s Global Business & Sustainability Goals

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched two distinct visa categories the Blue Visa and the Business Opportunities Visa as part of its broader strategy to attract talent, investors, and innovators while strengthening its position as a global business hub.

Announced at the World Governments Summit 2025, the new visa schemes aim to promote sustainability, economic diversification, and entrepreneurship, offering long-term residency opportunities to thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors.

What is the UAE’s Blue Visa?

The Blue Visa is a 10-year residency visa awarded to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to environmental sustainability both inside and outside the UAE.

Eligible candidates include:

  • Environmental activists
  • Global award winners in sustainability
  • Members of international environmental organizations
  • Researchers in sustainability technologies

Applicants can either apply directly through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) or be nominated by competent authorities with supporting evidence of their contributions.

Business Opportunities Visa: Unlocking Dubai’s Investment Potential

Introduced in 2022, the Business Opportunities Visa allows entrepreneurs, investors, and skilled professionals to explore investment prospects and strategic projects in the UAE.

Key Features:

  • Stay for up to 180 days
  • Single or multiple-entry options
  • No need for a UAE-based sponsor
  • Open to professionals across technology, tourism, manufacturing, and other key sectors

To apply, candidates must:

  • Be qualified professionals in their field
  • Hold a valid passport (6+ months)
  • Have health insurance coverage within the UAE
  • Provide a confirmed travel ticket
