The Wireless Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (WISPAP) has submitted key recommendations to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), urging the regulator to modernize the Local Loop (LL) Licensing Regime to accelerate broadband growth and innovation across the country.
In response to PTA’s Consultation Paper on Local Loop Licensing, WISPAP emphasized the need for a technology-neutral framework that encourages fair competition, investment in telecom infrastructure, and rural connectivity.

“The future of Pakistan’s digital economy depends on a regulatory framework that encourages broadband growth, innovation, and fair competition. It’s time for Pakistan to align with global best practices and unlock the full potential of digital connectivity.”
The association emphasized that modernizing the licensing regime will attract local and foreign investments, improve service delivery, and accelerate the rollout of high-speed internet in rural regions.
WISPAP has submitted its detailed recommendations to PTA and urged the government, industry experts, and public stakeholders to support the proposed reforms for faster, more accessible, and affordable broadband services across Pakistan.
